<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooler which efficiently cools a heating element by controlling the flow rate of a coolant for each part cooling the heating element, and to provide an electric power conversion apparatus using the cooler. <P>SOLUTION: A cooler 30 integrated with a housing 15 of an inverter device 10 has coolant passages 34a, 35a for flowing a coolant, recessed parts 31, 32, 33 which have openings respectively sealed by power modules 11, 12, 13 and are used for heat exchange between the power modules 11, 12, 13 and the coolant, and connection parts 37i, 37o, 38i, 38o, 39i, 39o connecting the recessed parts 31, 32, 33 with the coolant passages 34a, 35a. The opening areas and the shapes of the connection parts 37i, 37o, 38i, 38o, 39i, 39o vary according to distances from an inlet of the coolant passage 34a. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
