EQUIPMENT AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING AIR SYSTEM OF DIESEL ENGINE

An equipment (200) for controlling the air system of a diesel engine, comprises an operation condition acquisition device (202), a target flow determination device (204) and a signal generation device (206). The operation condition acquisition device (202) is used to acquire actual operation condition parameters of the diesel engine. The target flow determination device (204) is used to determine target flow parameters on the basis of the actual operation condition parameters from the operation condition acquisition device (202), by a non-linear physical model which characterizes the air system. The signal generation device (206) is used to generate signals for controlling an EGR system and a turbocharging system on the basis of the target flow parameters from the target flow determination device (204). A method for controlling the air system of a diesel engine and a computer program medium recording computer program codes for performing the method are also disclosed.
