<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive steering device that constitutes a memory function by a simple and reliable means and can hold a desired tilt position. <P>SOLUTION: The steering device for the vehicle includes a movable column member 10 for supporting a steering column 1 to swing, a first link 21 having one end supported to swing with respect to a housing supported on a fixed bracket 30, and a tilt operation lever 24 linked therewith. The device has a locking mechanism for holding the first link at a desired swinging angle according to the operation of the tilt operation lever, and a second link 22 having one end supported to swing on a movable column member. The respective ends of the first and second links are turnably connected, and a tilt position where the first link and the second link form a desired swinging angle is kept by the locking mechanism. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
