Provided is a wireless communication device which comprises: an interference wave detector (6) for detecting interference waves which cause radio wave interference with respect to wireless communication, and for detecting the frequency of the interference waves; an interference avoidance controller (10) for instructing avoidance control of radio wave interference caused by the interference waves, when it is predicted that there will be a time period during which the wireless communication will receive radio wave interference from the interference waves and the anticipated time period during which radio wave interference will be received exceeds a threshold time period; and a frequency controller (12) which adjusts the frequency of the wireless communication to a frequency that does not include the frequency of the interference waves, based on the instruction, from the interference avoidance controller (10), for avoidance control of the radio wave interference.
