The invention relates to a reinforced column cap. The reinforced cap can be used to connect the sections of a canopy in the form of a grid, said canopy being disposed at the upper end of a vertical structural section, a post or upright of a portal frame. The cap can simultaneously connect up to three sections to one another, namely: the upright section or post, the horizontal section or lintel of the portal frame, and a third section or girder, preferably a guide section, along which the canvas is moved as it is extended and retracted.
