<p>[Problem] The purpose of the invention is to provide an endoscope capable of changing the viewing field direction during imaging in a wider range without causing an increase in apparatus size while also being capable of being assembled easily with a simple configuration that connects driving rods via connecting members to an advancing and retracting driving device and being capable of reliable drive transmission. [Solution] This endoscope is provided with: an imaging holder that holds the imaging unit; driving force transmission mechanisms that each comprise a pair of driving rods (22, 23), the leading ends of which are connected at mutually diagonal positions on the imaging holder; a driving device that advances and retracts the driving rods (22); a support shaft extending from the base member side of the driving device; a relaying holder (42) that is furnished on the support shaft and supports the intermediate portions of the driving rods; and a cover member that covers at least a portion of same; and is configured to connect the base end of one driving rod (22) of each driving force transmission mechanism to the driving device via a connector (78).</p>
