PURPOSE: A washing machine is provided to display various information, such as weather information and intelligent power network information, other than washing courses and machine information. CONSTITUTION: An initial screen comprises a course selection area(910) which can be switched to a screen for selecting one or more washing courses and a user setting area(920) which can be switched to a screen for laundry type selection and auto washing information setting. When a user selects the user setting area, the initial screen is switched to a first screen. When a user selects the course selection area, the initial screen is switched to a sixth screen for display of one or more washing courses and information display and selection for each source.
