PURPOSE: An iron is provided to easily iron both wide and narrow portions of clothes by employing a retractable auxiliary heating plate. CONSTITUTION: An auxiliary heating plate(17), having a smaller width than a main heating plate, can be moved between a second and a first position by being projected to the front from an iron body(10) and retracted to the main heating plate. An auxiliary heating plate driving device comprises a holding unit for positioning the auxiliary heating plate in the first position and an extension unit for drawing out the auxiliary heating plate from the first to the second position. |
