PURPOSE: A display device and a control method are provided to obtain information about illuminance of external environments and maintain the best brightness of the display device. CONSTITUTION: A camera unit(101) generates image and brightness information using pixels. A display unit(109) displays the image information or specific information that a user wants according to an operation mode and adjusts the brightness of the screen using the brightness information. The camera unit is always turned on in a camera mode to generate the image and brightness information and is turned on for a fixed period of time at every cycle in a general screen mode to generate the brightness information. |
