摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device with lower power consumption if luminance is the same or with higher luminance if the power consumption is the same. <P>SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device 1 comprises: a liquid crystal display panel 10 on which a liquid crystal layer 60 is sandwiched between a TFT substrate 40 on which a thin film transistor is formed and a counter substrate 50 facing the TFT substrate 40, a pixel electrode MIT and a common electrode CT are laminated on the TFT substrate 40 via an insulation layer LI, an electrode out of the pixel electrode MIT and the common electrode CT separated from the liquid crystal layer 60 is planarly formed, a plurality of slits SL are formed and ends of the plurality of slits are closed on an electrode near the liquid crystal layer 60; and illumination means 20 which becomes a light source of the liquid crystal display panel 10. The liquid crystal display panel 10 is constituted by including reflection means 100 for reflecting light formed at the ends in the longitudinal direction of the slits SL, the vicinity of them, and on the surface of the side of an illumination device 20 a part of which overlaps with an inside area of the slits SL in plan view. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
