PHOTOELECTRIC CONVERSION MODULE AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an optical module in which an optical fiber may be inserted into an insertion hole without forming shavings and accuracy in alignment between the optical fiber and an optical element may be stably kept.

SOLUTION: An optical ferrule 10 having an insertion hole 15 opened on an element mounting face 11 having an electric wiring 12 thereon is prepared, a photoelectric conversion element 21 is mounted on the element mounting face 11 so as to be electrically connected to the electric wiring 12, a glass fiber 31 having a chamfered edge portion 34 on a tip face 33 thereof is inserted into the insertion hole, and the tip face 33 of the glass fiber 31 is aligned with the photoelectric conversion element 21.
