When a receiving state detected by a receiving level detector becomes equal to or lower than a predetermined receiving level, a traveling state of a vehicle is determined even if an area is judged to be an area capable of performing reception according to map information and a current position. When the vehicle is stopped or slowed, it is determined that the current vehicle position is at a point or in an environment where reception failure is caused locally by congestion or the like, and an automatic tuning process is thus inhibited. When congestion or temporary reception failure occurs, a state of the reception failure can be appropriately determined, and it is possible to eliminate complicated input operation for resetting when the automatic tuning process is performed unintentionally. The automatic tuning process can be appropriately executed and a reception unit (220) can appropriately receive broadcast waves, thereby improving usability. |
