An exercising apparatus comprising a base frame (2) including a seat (14); a support member (7) for supporting a body part of a user, the support member pivotally 5 mounted (5) relative to the base frame (2); a biasing mechanism (29) coupled between the base frame (2) and the support member (7), the biasing mechanism arranged to resist movement of the support member (7) away from the seat (14) and to urge the support member to a substantially upright starting position; the biasing mechanism (29) including a link member (12) and at least one resistance member 10 (34), wherein the link member (12) is coupled at one end to the support member (7) and at an opposite end to the resistance member (34).
