The shutter (1) has a set of panels (1-1) attached with each other in a reversible way by male and female lateral profiles (3c, 3d). The panels co-operate with stiffening elements to prevent bending of the panels relative to a plane at a junction level between the panels. The panels include sliding elements fixed in a reversible way by connection elements. The connection elements and the profiles are separated from each other for allowing removal of the panels through a window opening (10a). Width of the panels in translation direction is lower than width of the window opening. An independent claim is also included for a method for installing a sliding shutter.
