<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control unit that is configured to prvent a fraud which disables operation of a monitoring function from being easily performed, and detachment of a board case and the surrounding members is surely detected, even when the board case and also the surrounding members are detached. <P>SOLUTION: The control unit 10 includes: a control member 20 which encloses control components for controlling operation of a game machine; and externally installed members 30, 80 which are externally mounted on the control member 20. The control unit is equipped with a monitoring means 50 for detecting detachment between the control member 20 and the externally installed members 30, 80. The monitoring means 50 is provided with: a detection wiring part 50a which is arranged to go through a plurality of engaging parts 23, 251 in the control member 20 and a plurality of parts to be engaged 312, 84 in the externally installed members 30, 80, while the engaging parts 23, 251 and the parts to be engaged 312, 84 are engaged with each other; and a detector 60 which detects separation between the control member 20 and the externally installed members 30, 80 and disconnection of the detection wiring part 50a.
