<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reinforcing metal for a desk which is excellent in anchorage strength, and hardly seen from the outside. <P>SOLUTION: The reinforcing metal 8 has a metal body 9 including: an upper horizontal part 10; and a vertically long part 11. A first flap 12 is integrally provided in the upper horizontal part 10 of the metal body 9. Second flaps 13, 14 are integrally provided in the vertically long part 11. The upper horizontal part 10 and the vertically long part 11 are tightly fit to a fitting groove 15 provided in a top plate 2 and a leg 4.
