<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method for a double-ring network capable of deciding the optimum transmission order for transmission stations which can shorten transmission time automatically even when transmission stations are changed or added. <P>SOLUTION: In a double-ring network, a master station 1 has a transmission/reception permission switch unit 10, an A-system side communication port A20, a B-system side communication port B30, a first arrival reception control circuit unit 40, a transmission/reception control circuit unit 50, a frame detection determination circuit unit 60, a frame data generation circuit unit 70, a logical address decision circuit unit 80, a live-list setting circuit unit 90, and an address list setting circuit unit 100. Due to incorporation of a route minimizing function constituted by the logical address decision circuit unit 80 and the address list setting circuit unit 100, a token order (transmission order: [1], [2], ..., also referred to as a logical address) is decided so as to obtain the optimum route based on the connection order of nodes independently of addresses ((1), (2), ...: physical addresses) assigned to the transmission stations.
