<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a binder for a battery, excellent in binding properties, adhesiveness, electrochemical stability, electrolyte resistance and handleability, and also to provide a binder specifically suitable for preparing an alloy-type negative electrode. <P>SOLUTION: A binder for an electrode mixture includes an aromatic polyamide and an amine-based solvent.
