<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data storage device capable of easily reducing a risk of starting an apparatus mounted with the data storage device, using inappropriate information. <P>SOLUTION: The data storage device according to the present invention comprises: a power source for supplying power to the apparatus; first storage means; second storage means which stores information on a file system of the first storage means when the power source is turned off at a previous time, and requires a shorter time than the first storage means to become capable of reading data after the power source is turned on; determination means which determines whether the first storage means has been replaced with different storage means, in response to turning on of the power source; and control means which determines whether to start the apparatus using the information on the file system stored in the second storage means in accordance with the result of the determination by the determination means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
