The method involves mounting several turntables (5) around axles (3) of carousel-like portion (4). The encoder (6) is connected with labeling unit (9) through control unit (11). The control unit is arranged in order to control rotation of carousel-like portion. The spacing of the individual turntables on the carousel-like portion is determined and the spacing is accounted when labeling container. An independent claim is included for container labeling machine.
