<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal aligning agent that gives a liquid crystal alignment layer having excellent vertical aligning property and high resistance to UV rays. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal aligning agent comprises polyorganosiloxane having a group including a polymerizable carbon-carbon double bond represented by a group expressed by formula (A). In formula (A), R represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group; X<SP POS="POST">I</SP>and X<SP POS="POST">II</SP>each represent a 1,4-phenylene group, methylene group, 1,2-ethylene group, 1,2-propylene group or 1,3-propylene group; a, b, c and d each represent 0 or 1, provided that when c is 0 and d is 1, X<SP POS="POST">II</SP>is a 1,4-phenylene group, and when b is 0, d is 0. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
