The invention relates to a controller comprising a MIDI configuration and communication device (5), and a wind instrument simulator (1). The simulator (1) comprises a casing (11) containing fingering sensors (2) and a mouthpiece (6) with an air flow passage (62) for air blown by the performer, said mouthpiece (6) containing a sensor for detecting the speed of the air flow so that the MIDI configuration and communication device (5) can determine the notes and effects created by said mouthpiece (6) and the sensors (2) that are arranged analogously to a reference acoustic instrument.
