[Also in Group XXXIV] Apparatus for continuously moulding articles of thermoplastic material comprises a stationary frame, an annular frame rotatable in a vertical plane and carrying relatively axially movable complementary coaxial die members around its periphery, cams means to effect said movement on 177 rotation of the frame, and an annular track on the annular frame having associated with it bearing means enabling the frame to rotate. An annular frame 19 comprising a part 20 carrying operating units 22 including a cam follower 23, a part 21 carrying fixed die members 27 and axially movable die members 26, and a part 35 having a track 36 on its inner surface and a gear 41 machined on its outer surface, is mounted on horizontal extension 18 of a stationary frame. Two pairs of spaced rollers 38 mounted on rocker frames 39 pivotally mounted on extension 18 engage track 36 of members 35 and rollers 40 bear on its vertical sides so that frame 19 is rotatably suspended in a vertical position. Gear 41 is engaged by a drive and as the carrier rotates cam followers 23 are engaged by stationary cams 25 and cause dies 26 to move and punch out a blank from rubber strip 16 formed by rollers 12, 13. Co-operating dies 26, 27 are steam heated and semi cure the rubber article during further rotation and on ejection of the article 29 by a plunger in die 27 it falls down a shoot to a conveyer belt leading to a vulcanising chamber. Lubrication of the die movement is provided by an oil bath, Fig. 1 (not shown); dies 26 are resiliently mounted by discs 65.
