Injection moulding method for a hybrid part with a metallic insert

The method involves forming a metal insert (1) having a flat plate shaped free edge. The edge having locking tabs (5) is placed in a mold (7) molding a front side. A plastic material is injected in the mold to embed the tabs in the material. The molded front side is separated from the mold by displacement of the side and parts (7a, 7b) of the mold in a direction (8) parallel to the tabs, after solidifying and cooling the material. An independent claim is also included for a front side having a metal insert and a plastic material part molded on the insert.
