PURPOSE: A system and method for transmitting short message using a smart phone messenger application is provided to variously configure message transmitting methods by interworking with an existing short message transmitting method. CONSTITUTION: A mobile phone message transmitting SP(Service Provider) server for a mobile phone message relay(130) uses a received mobile phone number as a key value. The server searches login information of members who are accessing a smart phone messenger application. According to the search result, the server transmits a mobile phone message through a mobile phone message transmission service of an SP server for mobile communication(110), or the smart phone messenger application of an SP server for smart phone application messenger(120).
