Absorbent solution (I), comprises: (a) at least one amine; (b) water; and (c) at least one combination of first degradation inhibitor compound with second degradation inhibitor compound, where the first degradation inhibitor compound is sulfites and bisulfites, and the second degradation inhibitor compound is triazole or tetrazole compound, in which at least one of substituent includes a sulfur atom. Independent claims are included for: (1) process for absorbing acidic compounds contained in a gaseous effluent, comprising contacting the gaseous effluent with an absorbent solution; and (2) process for capturing carbon dioxide contained in the flue gases, comprising contacting the flue gases with an absorbent solution.
