<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a caliper brake device that secures heat resistance of a piston or the like. <P>SOLUTION: A caliper brake device for a vehicle, which clamps a disk 6 rotating with a wheel 5 to apply a frictional force thereto, comprises a caliper body 10 supported by a vehicle body (carriage), a brake block 7 coming into slide contact with the disk 6 to apply the friction force thereto, and a piston 65 for pressing the brake block 7 against the disk 6 by a fluid pressure. The brake block 7 comprises a lining back plate 19 pressed by the piston 65, a lining 9 coming into slide contact with the disk 6, and a spring 23 interposed between the lining back plate 19 and lining 9.
