摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an optical waveguide capable of efficiently manufacturing an optical waveguide having a grated index type refractive index distribution or a refractive index distribution similar to the grated index type at low cost, an optical waveguide which has small transmission loss and high reliability, and an electronic apparatus provided with the optical waveguide. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing the optical waveguide including a first step of forming a layer 910 containing a polymer 915, and a second step of irradiating the layer 910 with an active radiation beam 930 while making the beam 930 relatively move with respect to the layer 910, changing a part of a chemical structure in the polymer 915, degrading a refractive index, and thereby forming a refractive index distribution in the layer 910. Here, the second step includes setting at least one of a cross-sectional shape of the beam 930 and an intensity distribution in the beam 930 so that the integrated light quantity of active radiation continuously decreases as it recedes from the vicinity of the center line of a moving path of the beam 930, and thereby grated index type refractive index distribution is formed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
