PURPOSE: An antibacterial composition containing Vitis vinifera root, Symplocos prunifolia, or Campylotropis macrocarpa extract is provided to prevent food poisoning and food spoilage. CONSTITUTION: An antibacterial composition contains Vitis vinifera root, Symplocos prunifolia, or Campylotropis macrocarpa extract as an active ingredient. The extract is prepared using water, low alcohol of C1-C4, or a mixture solvent thereof. The extraction solvent is methanol or ethanol. An antibacterial composition eliminates Micrococcus luteus, Bacilus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus, Enterococcus hirae, Propionibacterium acnes, and Streptococcus mutans. The antibacterial composition is an external use skin formulation manufactured in the form of solutions, suspensions, sprays, patches, pads, creams, ointments, or gels.
