The device (1) has an evaporator device arranged at a rear wall (7) of a cooling chamber (5). The evaporator device includes evaporator sections (13, 14) e.g. planar evaporator plates, overlappingly arranged in an overlapping region. The evaporator sections are spaced at a distance relative to each other. The overlapping region of the evaporator sections is arranged in an upper convection zone (17) of the chamber. The evaporator sections are connected with each other by a pipe connection. Separation plates (10, 11, 12) i.e. glass plates, are provided in the chamber. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a cooling device.
