Class 97(1) A spectacle frame comprises, for each lens, a supporting band surrounding the lens and attached to a bridge member, each band being split at the temporal side and the ends adjacent the split provided with connectors detachably secured together by a fastener also holding an ornamental holding extending from the bridge to the connectors: As shown, the band is grooved to receive the lens and carries connectors 30, 32, Fig. 4, held together by a screw 46 to clamp the lens in position. The screw also holds in place an ornamental molding 54, grooved to receive the lens edge and having a portion 60, Fig. 5, hooked over the bridge. The connector 30 has secured thereto as by brazing a U-shaped member 38, 42, 40 carrying a temple hinge member.
