Synchronous operation of a pair of parallel connected motors is ensured by supplying liquid to the motors through a common balancing valve and passing the exhaust from the motors through a second balancing valve. For a stroke in one direction liquid is supplied through a line 13a and balancing valve 10a to lines 11a, 12 leading to motors 1a, 1. Exhaust from the motors passes through lines 11, 12a and a valve 10 to a line 13. If, say, motor 1a is loaded more highly, the piston of motor 1 will tend to move more quickly and the pressure of the exhaust liquid in line 11 be greater than that in line 12a and will act on a central partition 18 of the control member 17 of the balancing valve 10 so that the member 17 is moved to the right to partially cover a port 21 and thus throttle flow of liquid from line 11 which takes place through an axial bore in member 17, ports 19, an annular tapered recess 20a and port 21 to a chamber 23 open to line 13. For a reverse stroke liquid is fed through line 13 and exhausted through line 13a, and balancing valve 10a ensures synchronous operation of the motors. Relief valves 27, 27a are associated with each balancing valve. |
