<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that ensures power-saving mode state for a long period, and maintains excellent power-saving state. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: a drive control part 11 that detects change in handling of units 13, 15a, 15b, B as movable parts that constitute the apparatus or component parts detachable from the apparatus, and controls the transition between a normal mode and a power-saving mode; a detection part 17 that detects change in handling of units 13 to B, and outputs one detection signal based on the change in handling of any one of the units 13 to B; and a control part 1 that controls to switch the operation state of the apparatus between the normal mode and the power-saving mode, and controls the drive control part 11 shifted into the power-saving mode to start up in the normal mode based on the detection signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
