<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle seat that can surely ease a joining shock to the cervix by surely controlling backward tilting of the head of an occupant by improving the sitting attitude when the upper part of the body of the occupant sinks in the seat back at a rear collision of the vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: When the upper part of the body of the occupant sinks in the seat back S2 at a rear collision of the vehicle, the reverse movement of the shoulder of the occupant is caught in elasticity by a plurality of bent parts 16 and 17 of cross member 15 and controlled. Accordingly, the upper part of the body of occupant P sinks in seat back S2 by a safe sitting attitude to which the back curves like a so-called prawn.
