<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotation detection device and a rotation detection method capable of finding a sign of abnormality in a signal line based on a voltage signal output from an electromagnetic pickup and making repair or the like possible before the abnormality of the signal line actually occurs. <P>SOLUTION: The rotation detection device comprises: a rotary gear; an electromagnetic pickup which is arranged near a peripheral surface of the rotary gear and outputs a voltage signal with passing of teeth of the rotary gear; and rotation detection means for receiving the voltage signal from the electromagnetic pickup and detecting a rotational state of the rotary gear. The rotation detection device further comprises: stable state detection means for detecting a stable state of the rotation number of the rotary gear; and abnormality detection means for predicting abnormality in a signal line for transmitting the voltage signal by discriminating whether or not fluctuation range Vc of amplitude of the voltage signal detected in the stable state of the rotation number is equal to or above a reference value Vc0. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
