Provided is an image capturing system capable of reducing communication traffic between a plurality of cameras and a camera control device. An image capturing system (1) includes a server (200) and a plurality of cameras (100) connected to the server (200). Each of the cameras (100) is provided with an image generation unit (101) which generates an image by capturing the image, a mobile object detection unit (102) which detects a mobile object from the image generated by the image generation unit (101) and transmits information relating to the position of the mobile object to the server (200), and an image transmission unit (104) which transmits an image including the mobile object when the camera is selected by the server (200). The server (200) is provided with an image delivery camera selection unit (206) which, on the basis of the information relating to the position of the mobile object transmitted from each of the plurality of cameras (100), selects, as image delivery cameras, some cameras among the plurality of cameras (100), an image delivery camera notification unit (208) which notifies the cameras (100) of the result of the selection by the image delivery camera selection unit (206), and an image input unit (209) which inputs images transmitted from the cameras selected as the image delivery cameras by the image delivery camera selection unit (207).
