Provided is an organic electroluminescent element capable of being operated at a low voltage. The present invention addresses the problem of obtaining, by using the element, low-power-consumption light sources for flat panel displays for OA computers, wall-mounting television sets, etc., and for display panels, marker lamps, and copiers, light sources which take advantage of the feature of a surface light emitter, such as the backlights of liquid-crystal displays and instrument panels, etc. The invention relates to an organic electroluminescent element which includes two or more hole injection/transport layers each obtained by a wet film formation method using a composition that contains, as a hole-injecting and -transporting compound, an arylamine polymer including repeating units each having a tertiary arylamino structure therein, wherein when the number of atoms of the route that is the smallest in the number of atoms, of the routes which each connects any two non-aromatic tertiary nitrogen atoms present in the tertiary arylamino structures of the polymer is taken as N (minimum number of atoms present between nitrogen atoms), then the values of N for the hole injection/transport layers are in a specific state.
|
