<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture an optical film wherein a degree of the irregularity of a lag axis in a longitudinal direction is uniform in a width direction. <P>SOLUTION: A clip tenter 20 has a stretching area 46 and a relaxing area 47 in succession from the upstream side of a feed direction Z1 and the stretching area is equipped with a second air supply chamber and a heating device 63. The second air supply chamber is provided so as to cover the whole region of a wet film 12 in the width direction, while the heating device 63 is provided in opposed relation to a side end part 12s. In the stretching area 46, the wet film 12 is expanded in width under heating and, on the downstream side of the clip tenter 20, the degree of orientation of the dried film is detected in the width direction, and a low degree-of-orientation region lower than the target degree-of-orientation V(S) corresponding to a target Re is specified while the difference of a degree of orientation with the target degree of orientation of the low degree-of-orientation region is calculated. In the on-and-after stretching process, the heating of the side end part 12s by the heating device 63 is performed in addition to the heating of the whole width region by the second air supply chamber corresponding to the calculated difference of the degree of orientation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
