METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR LOCATION UPDATE IN MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PURPOSE: An apparatus for updating location information in a mobile communication system and a method thereof are provided to update the location information using other location indicator when the location update is denied due to a temporal network problem. CONSTITUTION: If the cause of a location update denial is a major cause, a mobile communication terminal tries the location update once again using an LAI(Location Area Identity)(320,330). The mobile communication terminal determines the success of the location update(335). If the total location update attempt frequency is four and there exists other location indicators, the mobile communication terminal performs location update using the different location indicators(340,355,360).
