Class 117 A vibratory screening machine includes a frame 1 Fig. 1 to which is detachably attached a number of superposed screening frames 2, 3, 4 with screening surfaces 28, 29, 30, and each frame is detachable from the adjacent one. The frame 1 has side plates 5 with bent-over edges and reinforcing ribs 8, and the screening frames have U-shaped sides with reinforcing ribs 21. The edges of the frames are clamped together by a number of spaced claws 36, Figs. 5, 6, each claw having a recess 37 receiving the edges of adjacent frames which are clamped by a wedge 37. After releasing a frame for servicing purposes it may be lowered away by a winch and held by chains 43. In Fig. 3 the screening frames are stacked above the frame 1 and are hinged together at 42 whereby they may be raised about their hinges. The screening surfaces may have hooks 31, 32 connected to tension hooks 33 secured to their frames, and screen sections interconnected by members 34. Lateral strips 10 on the frame 1 are connected to rubber mountings 11 on supports 14, 141, and the frame 1 carries a shaft 16 with an out-of-balance mass 161 driven by a motor 19.
