The pavement marker comprises a housing 1, a unidirectional reflective/light-penetrative panel 6 with an outwardly-facing reflective side 62 and an inwardly-facing light-penetrative side 63, covering the housing to form an inner space within which a generator 7, a rechargeable battery 9 and a circuit board 8 with light emitting diodes (LEDs) 80 are located. A spindle 70 extends from the generator through a hole 61 in the centre of the panel to a propeller such that when the propeller is rotated due to wind the generator charges the rechargeable battery which in turn powers the LEDs. A brush 50 is preferably attached to each propeller blade so that it is in contact with the reflective side of the panel. The propeller is preferably made of a transparent material. |
