<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reader/writer and an IC tag system, allowing control of comparatively many antennas in consideration of a case of providing an antenna switch circuit outside the reader/writer. <P>SOLUTION: This IC tag system has: the reader/writer 1; the antenna switch circuit 2 connected to the reader/writer 1; and the plurality of antennas 100-115. The reader/writer 1 is provided with a general-purpose I/O port (a GPIO port) 6 connected to a control part 3.
