The present invention provides a system and a method for intercepting a multimedia message. The system includes a user account authentication module and a user account management module connected with the user account authentication module. The user account management module configures a user account management table related to a user account of a transmitting party of a multimedia message. According to the user account management table, the user account authentication module authenticates the user account information related to the transmitting party, and intercepts the user account related to the transmitting party satisfying the intercepting condition. With the application of the present invention, an operator can set a user account that is required to be intercepted in the user account information table conveniently, so that the multimedia messages which do not meet the user demands are intercepted as much as possible in a mobile communication network and satisfaction degree of the user is greatly improved.
