<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal melting furnace sorting and recovering various types of metals after wastes collected as junk are poured as they are into a melting furnace, and preventing harmful gas generated in melting from being discharged to the outside air. <P>SOLUTION: This metal melting furnace 10 includes: the melting furnace 12 hermetically formed; a melting furnace body 14 storing the metal sorting/melting furnace 12; a duct 16 releasing gas generated inside of the metal sorting/melting furnace 12 into the melting furnace body 14; a hot air blowing path 18 blowing hot air to the melting furnace body 14; and a first combustion device 20 attached to the hot air blowing path 18. The melting furnace body 14 has a discharge port 22 discharging hot air and generated gas circulating in the melting furnace body 14 to the outside. The metal sorting/melting furnace 12 is heated over an extended time period by the first combustion device 20, thereby sorting and recovering the various types of metals contained in the wastes collected as junk. Also, the harmful gas generated in the metal sorting/melting furnace 12 is released into the high-temperature melting furnace body 14 through the duct 16 and disappears.
