<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dressing method and a dressing device capable of setting an abrasive grain protrusion height independently of grinding efficiency, in a method of performing dressing by grinding metal. <P>SOLUTION: A crossing angle θ defined by a thickness direction of a dressing plate 84 and a cutting direction of a grinding wheel 7 is variably changed by pivoting an arm 82 of a dressing device 8 about a pivot axis a. The crossing angle θ is determined by an abrasive grain protrusion height being a distance from an abrasive grain distal end of the grinding wheel 7 to a bond surface. The dressing plate 84 is ground at an angle smaller than the crossing angle θ at an initial stage of the dressing, and then the dressing plate 84 is ground by increasing the crossing angle θ. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
