<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stereoscopic video signal processing apparatus and a method capable of providing excellent image quality by devising processing path of data in a basic format for acquiring a stereoscopic video and suitable for various stereoscopic video signal processing. <P>SOLUTION: According to the embodiment, defined is a basic format comprising a first region for arrangement of main video data, a second region for arrangement of graphics data, a third region for arrangement of control information for pixels of the graphics data, and a fourth region for arrangement of control information for pixels of the main video data. A distribution module distributes data of the basic format into first plane including data of the first region and the second region and second plane including data of the third region and the fourth region. A first image quality adjustment module performs image quality adjustment including color correction and black level adjustment to the data of the first plane.
