<p>A liquid crystal display device provided with a display panel that can alternately display right-eye images and left-eye images, wherein liquid crystal burn-in due to drive voltage polarity is prevented and fluctuation of the liquid crystal response wave form when switching between right-eye images and left-eye images is reduced. Provided are a display control unit (22) that alternately displays right-eye images and left-eye images on a liquid crystal panel (11) and a polarity control unit (23) that inverts the polarity of the drive voltage of the liquid crystal display panel (11). In one cycle, which contains right-eye image and left-eye image display frames in a number that is a multiple of eight, the polarity control unit (23) inverts the polarity of the drive voltage so that any combination of polarities at time of display of an image in a pair of display frames that is constituted by a right-eye image and left-eye image falls under any one of four combination types, and so that each of the four combination types appears the same number of times.</p> |
