<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for preparing a 5,7,12,14-tetrahydro-5,7,12,14-tetraazapentacene compound and a derivative. <P>SOLUTION: A 1,2-diaminobenzene compound and a 1,2,4,5-tetrahydroxybenzene compound are made to react with each other. A symmetrical tetrahydrotetraazapentacene derivative is prepared by using two equivalents of the diaminobenzene compound and making them react with the tetrahydroxybenzene compound as shown in reaction formula.
