<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a throw-away insert and a tool holder capable of preventing rotation of a circular insert inside an insert pocket, easy to be manufactured, and capable of providing accuracy necessary for stable and secure positioning. <P>SOLUTION: The present invention relates to embodiments of the cutting tool holder 10 having one insert pocket 13 including a side surface 15 and an antirotation stopper 16 protruding from the side surface. In certain embodiments, the cutting tool holder 10 includes the insert pocket provided in the tool holder, and at least one antirotation stopper protruding from at least one of the side wall and the bottom surface of the insert pocket. The antirotation stopper includes at least two substantially planar surfaces. A cutting insert 12 may be secured in the tool holder, wherein the cutting insert has a recess 17 having a shape that is non-complementary to the shape of the antirotation stopper and may be made from tungsten based carbide or cermet. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
