摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent multiple columnar crystals in a peripheral part from being in contact with each other in a configuration in which a scintillator having the columnar crystals vertically arranged on a light emission side is included and a clearance between the adjacent columnar crystals is changed when a load is applied to a top plate of a housing. <P>SOLUTION: A scintillator 27 adapted to generate light by exposure of radiation comprises multiple columnar crystals 30 vertically arranged on one surface of a deposition substrate 26. The scintillator 27 is stored in a housing of an electronic cassette. When a load is applied to a top plate of the housing, a peripheral part 27b is significantly distorted compared to a center part 27a by receiving the load. Since a clearance L2 between the columnar crystals 30 in the peripheral part 27b is larger than a clearance L1 between the columnar crystals 30 in the center part 27a, even when the peripheral part 27b is significantly distorted, tips of the columnar crystals 30 in the peripheral part 27b are not in contact with each other and the columnar crystals 30 are not broken. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
